Jon joined the YPTE board in 2023 and lends his experience in communications and public affairs to the work of the Trust.
He was inspired to become a trustee by hearing his own children talk so passionately about the environment and he shares their love of the great outdoors, spending weekends camping in the Kent countryside and holidays out in the hills.
Jon has worked as a consultant or executive with a number of charities, including Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and the UK Community Foundations. He has helped local authorities meet their climate emergency commitments and worked with European city partners to promote domestic solar power. He advised British Gas on their engagement with the social housing sector on energy efficiency. Early in his career he worked with the Energy Saving Trust to encourage the adoption of energy efficient heating systems.
Jon is a non-executive adviser to a communications consultancy specialising in ESG investment issues. He has been managing director of two consultancy businesses and served as a school governor in Southeast London, where he lives with his family.
